Alphabet mats are soft

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

This morning, Mommy put me on my alphabet mat while I played the piano. That way, if I accidentally toppled over, I wouldn’t bump my keppy on the wood floor.

Me and my piano

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Tonight, before beddy, I had a big meal, including a whole jar of carrots, and that is why I have orange on my face and bib in these pictures of me playing my piano. I sure do love my carrots!I also started clapping this week, and no one taught me how to do it. When Mommy wanted to see me clap this afternoon, she started clapping, and then I did my clapping. That made her laugh.

After playing the piano for a while, I like to do some push-ups as practice for when I figure out how to crawl.

Looks like August

Saturday, October 7th, 2006

It was such a nice day today, all the Dunewood families went to the beach. It was crowded in front of our house as if it were August.

F.I. houses

Saturday, October 7th, 2006

Mommy and Daddy took me for a walk while they looked for inspiration in case we decide to make changes to our house. Daddy carried me in a sling. When we found an interesting house, like the one on Holly or the one on Keogh, Mommy took pictures. We also saw some deer.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Marjorie at Daddy’s office gave me a thank you card for all the nice shells I brought back for her.

Yum, rice cereal

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Daddy fed me rice cereal. I am a neat eater if you give me a napkin.

Daddy and me by the ferry

Friday, September 29th, 2006

While waiting for the boat to Dunewood, Daddy was talking on the phone while I was sitting happily on his lap.

View from the roof

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Daddy went up on a ladder to the roof of our house. Mommy watched me playing in my excersaucer. Then Daddy and I hung out on the couch. I later went back in my excersaucer to jump around and play some more.

Aunt Kerren and Nanny Liz visited for the weekend

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Mommy and I hung out and watched the ocean as we sat on the front deck. After I went back inside, Nanny and I enjoyed each other’s company. At the end of their visit, we saw Aunt Kerren and Nanny Liz off at the Fair Harbor ferry dock.

Lunch with Nanny Liz

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

Nanny Liz helped me eat my lunch. For meals, I eat rice cereal and organic vegetable purees, and I usually like them very much. Once in a while, there is a vegetable medley that I don’t like, and I make sour faces to let people know that it tastes yucky to me. When that happens, I get something else to eat.

Best teething toy

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Kitty King gave me this teething toy — it is so squishy and fun to bite!

Nanny Liz has arrived

Monday, September 18th, 2006

I finally got to meet my Nanny today. She came from California to see me. She always adores me from afar, but now she got to adore me up close. Nanny Liz and Aunt Kerren visited us at the beach house, and we had a nice time.

Nanny was tired because she took a plane here yesterday. She had a pretty, silver charm bracelet that I liked playing with. Too bad that I got my first skeeter bite under my left eye when we went to catch the ferry home.

First stay out at the beach

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

Fire Island sure is a good place to relax. I live the change of scenery from the city. Mommy and Daddy have a lot of cleaning to do, but after that is done, they can relax with me. My favorite time of day is when Mommy takes me in the pouch for walks on the beach. I fall asleep and have a good nap every time. Today, around sunset, I went down to the beach with Mommy, and Daddy took pictures of us.

Cyclone head

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

My Nana and Grandpa had a tornado in Massapequa this week. My hair goes in a little tornado swirl pattern on the top of my head. Well, it isn’t much hair, but you can see the swirl. Mommy loves to kiss my head and rub my hair, while she calls me her little coconut head.

Sitting pretty

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

After doing the laundry, Mommy needed to put me down somewhere while she put away my clothes. She thought she’d try sitting me on the futon in my room, which is where she nurses me before naps and beddy time.

Visited Daddy at work, typed out a post

Here is the post I typed myself on his keyboard:

Mommy played guitar, then I ate in the high chair

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Mommy practiced her guitar while I sat and listened.

Since I am now starting to eat solid food, Daddy put my high chair together. It is comfy and has fun things on it. I had my second meal from a spoon, and I liked it.

Hangin’ around, eatin’ some rice flakes

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

I spent the morning rolling around on my mat, and Daddy took a bunch of videos: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Then, the afternoon brought an entirely new adventure; Mommy and Daddy mixed some baby rice cereal with Mommy’s milk. My first solid food! I liked eating off the spoon so much I tried to eat the spoon.

Day 2 at Martin and Carol’s house

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

I slept well in the couch-crib, but woke up quite early. So Mommy took me into the big bed. When Daddy got up, he took another video of me, including a little foofy I made. Then I put on my little ruffle pants outfit. I took a long nap, and when I woke up, Mommy took some pictures of me in the couch-crib. As you can see, my first weekend away was loads of fun!

Overnight trip in CT, more video

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

This weekend, we stayed with Aunt Carol & Uncle Martin at their beautiful vacation home in Sherman, CT. Carol went down to the pool and said the water was warm. Here are pictures of Daddy and me; I’m posing for animal crackers, as usual. Then Daddy held me while I played in the pool, and I splashed my feet. Auntie Karin was staying over with us, and she helped me play in the pool, too. Daddy got the video camera, then came down to the pool while Karin was splashing with me. Then Mommy splashed with me. When I got tired of splashing, I sat on Mommy’s lap. I got to stand on Mommy’s lap, and she rubbed my head and kissed on me. Karin took over the video camera while Daddy joined Mommy and me, and you can see that he knocked a rock loose next to the pool (oops). Then Karin took more video of us, including Martin, but then she went off and took video of the scenery. Eventually, Karin came back to Mommy, Daddy and me.

After fun at the pool, Mommy and I played with the piano, and then we went upstairs so Mommy could change my clothes. She put me in a comfy onesie for the evening. We came back downstairs and Martin snugged me, but Mommy had the camera on the wrong setting, so we came out fuzzy. Martin showed me how to play the piano, and even how to play it with my feet. It was then my beddy time, so I went to sleep in the couch-crib (Daddy used the night video feature in the dark). Mommy and Daddy stayed at the house with me, but Martin, Carol and Karin all put on togas and went out to a toga party at a neighbor’s house. All night, it was raining hard outside, and Mommy enjoyed the lovely sound of the rain falling on the trees.

First digitized video

Friday, August 18th, 2006

Daddy was testing a new video camera today. I’m the star. This video file was originally very big, but we converted it to real video to make it smaller.  If you don’t have Real Video, try the QuickTime file.

Went to see both my aunties today, Kerren and Karin

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

I like to visit family and friends on the weekends. Today, I started the day playing on Mommy’s bed, and then we went out to L.I. It was a special day, because I got so see both my aunties, Kerren and Karin. We had a BBQ at Aunt Kerren’s house and took lots of pictures. Uncle Herb was there, and so was Mommy’s friend Bonnie, who has a new, red convertible car.

Toes are yummy

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

I recently discovered that I’m quite flexible and can munch on my toes. For some reason, I find them yummy.

Love my new stroller

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

I am trying out a new stoller today. I get to face forward. Whee!

Nahasses in NJ

Saturday, August 5th, 2006

We went to Clifton, NJ to visit Mommy and Daddy’s friends Sonja and David and their girls Eva and Sophia. Sophia is now a year and a half, and Eva will be four in September.

Before we left for the trip, I got to napping quite late, and only slept for 1/2 hour by the time we had to go. So, I didn’t get much beauty sleep. I was tired a lot of the day, but I wouldn’t let myself nap (except for 1/2 hour when the other kids took a nap) because everything was too exciting. I loved watching Eva and Sophia playing with all their toys, so I was in a good mood anyway. I even played with their little guitar, and Mommy thought it was very cool that I could use my fingers that way.

Mommy took a bunch of pictures of everyone. She had fun trying to get good shots of the kids on the move. I am not too mobile yet, so I usually sat still and gave pretty smiles.

Trip to visit the Bensons

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

This morning, I started off with some tummy time, and I got to see myself in the mirror that is part of my activity mat. Then we went on a trip to see some other kids. Mommy’s friend Jennifer just had another baby, so it was a good time to visit their family. Mommy took pictures of me in the car seat carrier, and Daddy took pictures of Mommy and me, at the Suffern train station. We spent the day with Jennifer, Andrew, Miriasa, Gavrie, and Ita, and took lots of pictures there. On the walk back home from the subway, I wanted Mommy to hold me, so she put me in the Baby Bijorn carrier that our neighbor Melissa gave to us.

Dance Dance Dance with Daddy; Pet Pet Pet the Kitty

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Teething is a bummer, so Daddy agreed to dance with me. The last picture is out of focus because we were dancing away. Then, Mommy had her first guitar lesson with a man named Tal. He came to the house, and Daddy and I watched Mommy take her lesson. She wants to learn how to play children’s songs for me, and also play Rock and Roll. Mommy, Daddy and I then headed out to a few music stores, because she needed some guitar books, picks and new strings for her jumbo acoustic Epiphone. After we got home, I played with my kitties. James is the one who lets me pet him the most.

Hanging on

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

I like to hang on while I go swingie swingie.

Grandpa Bernie’s birthday party

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Daddy came home early this morning, and then we went out by train to Massapequa to visit with Nana Sonja, Grandpa Bernie and Auntie Karin. We had lots of fun. I even made up a clever little game called knock over the cup and the onion salt. Before we left, I got antsy, so Auntie Karin and Daddy entertained me by dancing and singing. When we got back to Manhattan, I was in a good mood and had some more fun with my pink puppy.

A day with Grandpa Lou and Granny Barbara

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Daddy was in Denver on a business trip, so Mommy and I took a long train ride out to Aunt Kerren’s house for a BBQ. When we got to the train station in Stony Brook, Aunt Kerren, Uncle Herbie, Grandpa Lou and Granny Barbara were waiting there to meet us. We couldn’t go outside because it was rainy most of the day, but we had a fun time hanging out in the living room and on Aunt Kerren’s bed. I don’t know why, but I love Aunt Kerren’s bed — maybe it is because of the psychadelic blanket, which is cool and soft. Anyway, Aunt Kerren made yummy food, and Uncle Herbie helped her by going out to cook it on the barbeque. We took lots of pictures, of course! Grandpa Lou and Granny Barbara brought me a pink puppy that makes a barky noise, and I love it. They also gave me a soft dolly and some clothes that I can have later. GP Lou and G Babs emailed these pictures and videos, which are really funny and cute! On the train ride home, I played with my puppy.

Good place for a cat nap

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Mommy was pleasantly surprised that I nodded off without her nursing me, rocking me, or strolling me, so she took these pictures while I was sleeping.
